Hours of Operation:

Do you realize an estimated 1 million children are cared for in the United States by an “at home” childcare provider? Family Child Care (FCC) is one of the childcare options at Dugway Proving Ground. Family Child Care is a professional quarter-based system that provides care for children 4 wks. to 12 years of age. The program provides care in a warm home-like setting that meets childcare needs and allows sibling to be together. The FCC system is part of Child and Youth Services, and the quality of programming is comparable to the Child Development Center.

In addition to offering a range of full-day, part-day and hourly care, FCC offers flexibility. These services include extended hour and weekend care to accommodate work hours of the population. This may be especially vital to patrons with non-traditional schedules.

You as a FCC Provider

Family Child Care is an excellent opportunity for those who want to stay home with their children. You can become a certified provider and supplement your family’s income by watching other children as well as your own. The FCC program offers extensive free training that is transferable to other installations. Family Child Care is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge about childcare, create a caring, nurturing, developmentally rich environment for your children and the other children in your care.

What are my next steps to get started?

Army Regulation 608-10 states that "Becoming a FCC provider is a privilege, not a right, that is extended to only the best qualified applicants”. This simply means that all FCC candidates must apply and be approved before the certification process can begin.
