Operation Ready Program

 

   What does the term Operation READY really mean? READY is the acronym for, "Resources for Educating About Deployment & You". The key word here is RESOURCES. One of our key lessons learned from Desert Shield/Desert Storm was that resources were not readily available for our Army Community Service staff and Family Program Coordinators in the field. The availability of accurate information is essential in successfully maintaining a combat readiness by providing families with tools to prepare themselves for any family separation.

  Operation READY is a library of mobilization/deployment training resource materials. Operation READY consists of The Army Family Readiness Handbook, Children Workbook, and four training modules:

1) Pre-deployment Ongoing Readiness;
2) Family Assistance Center;
3) Family Readiness Group Advanced Training;
4) Post-deployment Homecoming & Reunion.
Each topic addressed in the READY training module is a stand alone training unit designed to be conducted as a workshop. Additional information and support can be found at:
